We came. We saw. We branded.
We can hardly believe Event Marketing Summit 2012 is over. We had a fantastic time in the Windy City, meeting many new faces and promoting our brand experience capabilities.
For our exhibit, we did a brand activation for Laurie's Buffalo Gourmet, our delightfully delicious client who recently released new recipes and packaging for its chips and salsa. To complete the brand experience, we combined our event planning expertise with two of our coolest tools: Nimbrio and Superbooth.

With the Nimbrio web app, visitors can rate their favorite chip and salsa flavors with the swipe of a finger on any smartphone or tablet. They can keep notes for future use, mark their favorites, and see the group's results on the leaderboard. There are also options to buy online and share via social media outlets.
Then, visitors truly become part of the brand when the step into the Superbooth. This interactive photobooth is a true gem for brand experiences! Anything and everything about the booth can be customized to your brand: the exterior fabric, the interior backdrop, the video spokesperson (although the stock spokesmen like "Vinny" are pretty entertaining), and the photo printouts.
We think it was a huge hit. People loved the experience and came back for rounds two and three! After seeing hundreds of people try the Superbooth, we can assure you that no matter what type of personality goes into the booth, it's impossible not to have fun.
Videos coming soon!

The Event Marketing Summit is the #1 conference for face-to-face marketing and events, so naturally SED will be attending. Are you going to EMS 2012 in Chicago next week? Well then we'll see you at Booth 415!
We are very much looking forward to our booth in the exhibit hall, and we think you'll enjoy it, too.
This year, we've teamed up with some special companies to bring you a true live experience in the form of a brand activation for Laurie's Gourmet Buffalo chips. We're combining experience, feedback, social media and fun for this special brand launch event.
Let's just say we'll be bringing you the perfect formula for a brand activation event. It's kind of like the perfect storm, except this is a good thing. Either way, it's not to be missed! So stop by, test out some chips, get your photo taken, and be a part of this experience.
Did we mention the free chips and salsa? And we'll give away one more secret... there will also be prizes for participants. Stop by more than once to increaes your chances of winning (ahem, and get more free chips).

Whether you are looking to a company like Strategic Event Design for a complete event package, or just to "fill in the gaps" for your next occasion, it can never hurt to do a little brainstorming of your own. When it comes to wedding and event planning, there is an unlimited wealth of information on the web.
Sure, you've heard of the obvious ones, like The Knot, Pinterest and BizBash. But you're looking for something a little different and perhaps speciific. We've compiled a list of unexpected resources for planning your wedding or special event. Please, add your own ideas in the comments!
Google Images
The Google image search can be a real advantage when it comes to trying to visualize your wedding or event. Looking for "red party favors" or "centerpiece ideas"? Just type your search phrase into Google and click "images".

Blog Search
As websites like Pinterest have proven, sometimes it's the little guys that have the best ideas. Like the stay-at-home-mom bloggers, for example. The good news is, Google has created a blog search so you can find out who has blogged about events just like the one you're planning. To get to the Google Blog Search, from the left side of the Google Home Page, click "more" and then "blogs".

Past Events
Already have a favorite event company or site whose events you know you like? Try searching for "past events" on their website. If you can't find this link, you can use an advanced Google search like "past event photos site:vanityfair.com". Try this for large corporations, entertainment magazines and event planning companies.
Flickr
Flickr is a great alternative to the Google Image Search, and is typically chalk full of real photographer's images, which you can search and sort (our favorite is the sort by "interesting" option). This photo content is reserved, but can certainly generate some great party planning ideas.

Upfront Meetings are common in the television broadcast industry, typically held at the beginning of key advertising sales periods. Upfront meetings are pivotal to the networks' advertising dollars for that period, as they allow advertisers to buy commercial time for their shows "up front", before the shows are ready to air.
Planning an excellent upfront meeting is an important step to garnering these advertising dollars. Strategic Event Design has extensive meeting planning experience.
Five Ideas for a Unique Upfront Meeting
- Select a Good Venue - Your advertisers' enjoyment is of utmost importance. You want them to want to be there.
- Keep it Short - A few hours at the end of the day should suffice to get your message across while still keeping their attention.
- Business First - Show some short clips of the season's trailers. Be sure to have a compelling host and an interesting setup and displays.
- Create Buzz - Create a Twitter hash tag for your event and have a screen displaying the room's tweets as you play the trailers.
- Keep it Loose - Allow some time at the end for some refreshments, appetizers and networking. Let the attendees take it from here.
Bonus Tip: Don't forget the handouts! Whether it is a media kit, unique SWAG or just a business card, give them something to remember you by. They will be making their decisions on how to allocate their dollars soon. Will they remember you?
If you're looking for professional event planner who can organize an outstanding upfront event for you, look no further. The team at Strategic Event Design has hundreds of professional events under their belts.
